Paper with a memory

Papyon was founded in Istanbul in 2011 by designers who believed a piece of paper can carry a city's memory. The name comes from the Ottoman-era paper merchants whose shops once lined the city's bazaars — and the atelier draws on that design heritage, blending motifs and craftsmanship passed down through generations with modern production standards. What began as a small studio printing wedding invitations has grown into a house of paper goods shipped to collectors, couples, and businesses across dozens of countries.

What we make

The atelier produces cotton-paper wedding invitations, leather-bound notebooks and journals, correspondence cards, and bespoke packaging for brands that want their unboxing to feel like a gift. Design starts from a hand-drawn concept — Ottoman-inspired ornament handled with restraint — and every order is inspected by hand in the workshop before it ships, because a folded corner on a wedding invitation is a permanent memory. Papers are sourced for texture and longevity, inks are chosen to age gracefully, and custom work is developed in direct conversation with the client rather than through a form.
